California Home Educators provides service to families in California who teach their won children at home and to homeschool programs and support groups. Some of the services provided are:

Annual Achievement Testing Services - Groups or “At Home”
Home School Legal Defense Memberships
Homeschool Counsultation - Families, support groups or programs.

court Testing - Home school families desiring to have their student take an annual achievement test, may sign up to have their student tested at home or at a Southern California testing locations.

CHELD (Home School Legal Defense Memberships) California Home Educators Legal Defense (CHELD) offers home school legal defense memberships to families in California. CHELD helps homeschool families deal with contacts from both the local public school and the Department of Children Services. Administrative assistance is also given to the administrator of any Independent Study Program (ISP) or homeschool program which has CHELD members. Families with special needs children can also find support and assistance. Annual cost - $25.00 per family.

California “Homeschool” ruling! The California Appellate Court handed down an historic landmark ruling confirming that “a non-credentialed parent can teach their own children at home!” This is the first time in California history a homeschool ruling of this magnitude has been rendered. Homeschooling families can continue to homeschool with the assurance that what they are doing is legal in California! Home Schooling and California Laws Home schooling is constitutional and legal in California when accomplished through one of the three following means. While home school groups may hold different perspectives on the law in California, the safest means for home schooling is through a public or private ISP.
